The agreement for using HoloTap

Terms of service.

These terms cover the HoloTap website, the HoloTap app and the HoloTap marketplace. Using HoloTap means you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Version 2026-09-24 · Effective September 24, 2026

Accepting these terms

You accept these terms when you create a HoloTap account. We record which version you accepted and when. If we publish a changed version, HoloTap asks you to read and accept it before you continue using your account. We do not ask again for a version you have already accepted.

You must be at least 13 years old to have an account, and old enough in your country to enter this agreement. If you are under 18, you may use HoloTap only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms with you. Buying, selling and paid memberships require a valid payment method you are authorized to use.

Your account

Keep your sign-in details accurate and private. You are responsible for what happens through your account. One person, one account — do not share, sell or transfer it. Tell us at holotapcards@gmail.com if you think someone else has access.

You can delete your account at any time from Privacy & safety on the website, or Delete account in the app. Deletion is described on the privacy page. Deleting your HoloTap account does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel that in your Apple Account settings.

Your cards, your vault and NFC tags

Your vault records cards you own. Card details, photos, notes and values you enter are yours; you are responsible for their accuracy. A HoloTap NFC tag links a physical card to a vault record. Enrolling a tag records that link to your account.

A vault record is a record, not proof of ownership, authenticity, condition or value. HoloTap does not inspect, authenticate, grade or appraise physical cards. Registering a tag does not verify that a card is genuine.

When a card sells through HoloTap, its tag link moves to the buyer’s account as part of the sale. Do not enroll a tag on a card you do not own, and do not re-enroll a tag that belongs to a card you have sold.

Buying, selling and offers

HoloTap is a marketplace between collectors. The sale contract is between the buyer and the seller. HoloTap provides the listing, offer, payment and messaging tools; it does not own the cards, take possession of them, or act as an agent, escrow or auction house for either side.

If you list a card, you confirm you own it and may lawfully sell it, and that the details you enter are accurate. An offer you send is a real commitment to buy at that amount. Accepting an offer forms the sale: the buyer pays, and the seller ships the exact card that was listed, packed to survive transit, within a reasonable time.

A card can only be sold once. Accepting an offer closes the other open negotiations on that card. Buy Now cannot be used to bypass an offer that has already been accepted.

Disputes about a card, its condition, delivery or a refund are between the buyer and the seller in the first instance. Contact each other through HoloTap messages, and contact holotapcards@gmail.com if you cannot resolve it. Payment providers have their own dispute processes.

Royalties

A card can carry a royalty: a percentage of a future resale that goes to an earlier seller. When you list a card you choose the royalty that will apply to the next sale after yours. A royalty already attached to a card by a previous seller applies to your sale and is paid from the sale amount.

Royalties are a feature of the HoloTap marketplace and apply to sales that happen through HoloTap. They do not follow a card sold elsewhere, and they are not a security, an investment or a promise of future income.

Payments and fees

Payments are processed by Stripe, and in-app purchases by Apple. Their terms apply to those transactions. HoloTap does not receive or store your full payment-card number.

Eligible sellers can receive payment before setting up bank payouts. Sales without an active connected payout account are recorded in HoloTap sales balance, after seller fees and excluding postage. Proceeds become available 7 days after payment once the order is marked shipped. Available sales balance can pay for card purchases, including their postage. Bank withdrawals require a connected Stripe account and completed identity and bank verification. Refunds and disputes can hold or remove sale proceeds; amounts already spent or withdrawn are offset against future proceeds. Refunds of balance purchases return to sales balance. HoloTap cannot release a payout that Stripe is holding or complete verification for you.

Fees that apply to a sale, and any shipping charge, are shown before you confirm. Amounts are in US dollars unless stated otherwise.

Memberships and hardware

Memberships are billed through Stripe on the website or Apple in the app, on the interval shown at purchase, and renew until cancelled. Cancel a website subscription in your account; cancel an Apple subscription in your Apple Account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals.

HoloTap hardware — toploaders, sleeves and tags — is made to order and ships in about 10–15 business days. Current memberships provide digital benefits only. Hardware is sold separately, with shipping shown before checkout. Existing hardware orders are preserved. Delivery times after dispatch depend on the carrier.

Live Lens, the card catalog and AI features

Live Lens reads card text with your camera and can compare it against card-data providers. Catalog entries, printings, images and price references come from those providers and from publicly available sources, and are credited where required. They can be wrong, out of date, or match the wrong printing.

Catalog matches, AI photo reports and price references are informational only. They are not authentication, a professional grade, an appraisal, or a guaranteed sale price, and nothing in HoloTap should be treated as financial advice. Card names, set names, logos and artwork belong to their respective rights holders; HoloTap is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

AI features are optional and ask permission before sending anything. What is sent, and to whom, is described on the privacy page.

What you post and how you behave

You keep ownership of the photos, posts, messages and card details you add. You give HoloTap permission to store, display and transmit them as needed to run the service — for example, showing your listing to other collectors or delivering your message to the person you sent it to. That permission ends when you remove the content or delete your account, except for copies already delivered to other people and records we must keep.

Do not: post content you have no right to post; list counterfeit, stolen or misrepresented cards; take payment outside HoloTap to avoid fees or royalties; harass, threaten or impersonate anyone; post sexual content involving minors or other illegal material; scrape, overload or attack the service; or use HoloTap to break the law.

HoloTap has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users, including sexually explicit material, hate, threats, harassment and exploitation. Photos and messages are filtered before sharing. Use Report on a post, message, listing or collector to flag a problem. Blocking a collector immediately hides their content from your feed and sends a report to HoloTap. We act on objectionable-content reports within 24 hours, remove violating content and suspend or eject the account responsible. Contact holotapcards@gmail.com for safety reports or appeals. Serious cases may be reported to the authorities.

Service availability and changes

HoloTap is provided as it is, without warranties. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any listing, catalog entry, estimate or scan result is accurate. Features can change, and parts of the service can be suspended for maintenance or withdrawn.

To the extent the law allows, HoloTap is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for lost profits or lost collection value, or for the acts of another collector — including a card that is not sent, not as described, or not paid for. Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law in your country, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, creates risk for other collectors, or is required to be closed by law or by a payment provider. You may stop using HoloTap and delete your account at any time.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change materially, we publish a new version with a new version date on this page and ask you to accept it the next time you use your account. Continuing to use HoloTap after accepting the new version means the new version applies. Older versions are replaced, not stacked.
